Up with People Jr.

Up with People Jr. offers a fun performance arts based experience while helping children develop life skills such as:

Sense of Community
Confidence and Independence
Global and cultural awareness.
Collaborating with others

We have taken inspiration from the internationally acclaimed group Up with People, and developed a day camp curriculum for 8–12-year-olds, culminating with a high energy musical show. Using the performing arts as a catalyst to explore cultural appreciation, and global awareness. Each song our show is accompanied by a lesson plan to enhance the student’s understanding of the song and its message.

Children who attend Up with People Jr. will participate in community volunteer projects, introducing young people to the importance of helping others, and the joy of giving. In addition to volunteering, cultural awareness and the performing arts, Up with People Jr is just a lot of fun for any child’s summer.

UWP Jr. 2021 COVID-19 Policy

This summer UWP Jr. will follow guidelines outlined by the Center for Disease Control, Virginia Department of Health, and The American Camp Association.

These guidelines include:

-Daily temperature checks for students and mentors. Those with temperatures above 100.4℉ will be asked to return home

-Masks worn at all times while indoors, and outside when social distancing is not possible

-Additional hand washing and sanitizer stations

-Use of FDA approved cleaners on shared materials and in common spaces
